Why SciChain
Quantum computers will eventually break the elliptic-curve cryptography every other EVM chain depends on. SciChain is the working answer: a fully EVM-compatible Layer 1 where post-quantum security and instant finality are live today.
Post-quantum security
Two signatures on every transaction
SciChain pairs classical ECDSA with NIST-standard ML-DSA-44, so nothing signed today becomes forgeable tomorrow.
Hybrid by design
Every transaction carries two signatures: classical ECDSA for full Ethereum compatibility, and ML-DSA-44 — the NIST FIPS 204 post-quantum standard — for long-term security.
Harvest-now, decrypt-later, defeated
Adversaries recording traffic today plan to break ECDSA with future quantum computers. SciChain transactions stay verifiable even after ECDSA falls, because the ML-DSA co-signature does not rely on elliptic curves.
First live PQC EVM L1
Post-quantum signing is not a testnet experiment or a roadmap item — it runs on SciChain mainnet today, on every block.
Consensus
QBFT: finality you can build on
A Byzantine fault tolerant consensus run by known validators — fast, energy-efficient, and fork-free.
Deterministic finality
QBFT validators agree on each block before it is published. Once a block exists, it is final — there is no probabilistic confirmation window.
~2 second blocks, no reorgs
Blocks are produced roughly every two seconds and can never be reorganized. Payments, certificates, and event tickets settle instantly and permanently.
Institutional & academic validators
The validator set is made up of known institutional and academic operators, anchoring the chain in the scientific community it was built for.
